«El lloro verd» is the children's detective novel by Ursel Scheffler, published by Edicions del Pirata in paperback (136 pages, in Catalan).
Each chapter presents a different case for the reader to solve, with the answer encrypted to be read with a super-detective magnifying glass. In this adventure, Inspector Isidor Llampec boards the Paris express and, with the help of a polyglot green parrot and other animals, tries to foil an international gang of diamond smugglers.
Fourth installment in the Comissari Llampec collection, published in 2008 and recommended for readers aged 8. The illustrations are by Hannes Gerber.
Designed for children aged 8 and up, especially for those who are reluctant to read: the short cases and the magnifying-glass game turn each chapter into a small detective challenge.
