«El mal amor» is the humorous novel by Fernando Fernán Gómez, published by Planeta in hardcover (247 pages, in Spanish).
A licentious archpriest is confined by his uncle the bishop in medieval Castile; there he writes the story of Count don Sancho, who awaits the return of his wife and his daughter doña Mencía. The travellers return from Provence with knights and introduce courtly love, unleashing entanglements and picaresque situations.
Finalist for the Planeta Prize 1987. Belongs to the Spanish and Hispano-American Authors Collection of the Planeta publishing house.
For readers of contemporary Spanish fiction and humour with historical setting.
