El manuscrito carmesí es una novela del escritor español Antonio Gala, publicada en 1990. La historia narra la vida de Boabdil, el último sultán nazarí del reino de Granada, a través de sus propios escritos encontrados en la Cancillería de la Alhambra. En estos papeles, Boabdil da testimonio de su vida, sus alegrías y sufrimientos, desde sus recuerdos infantiles hasta su responsabilidad como gobernante de un reino en declive. La novela explora las contradicciones y el desvalimiento de Boabdil ante un destino inevitable, convirtiéndolo en un símbolo del hombre contemporáneo.
