«El mateix vell amor» is the contemporary novel by Núria Esponellà, published by Columna CAT in paperback (230 pages, in Catalan).
Agustí, a cork businessman from Sant Feliu de Guíxols, travels to Extremadura to buy a batch of cork. During the five-day journey he recalls an earlier trip with a lover and evokes Gemma, the lover, and Roser, the wife who died a year before. The narrative superimposes present and past, portraying a saga of cork merchants who emigrated to Cuba.
Work awarded the Premi Ciutat de Badalona for narrative in 2000 and part of the Clàssica collection from Columna CAT.
For Catalan-speaking readers of contemporary fiction interested in memory and couple relationships.
