«El misterio de la casa Aranda» is the crime novel by Jerónimo Tristante, published by Embolsillo in paperback (360 pages, in Spanish).
Madrid, late 19th century. Sub-inspector Víctor Ros, a former criminal turned policeman, investigates his first case: murders in the Aranda house where reading Dante's Divine Comedy seems to drive several wives to kill their husbands. In parallel, he looks into the deaths of two prostitutes, perhaps not so unrelated to the mystery.
First installment of the detective Víctor Ros series, with editions also in Italy, France and Portugal.
Aimed at readers of crime and mystery fiction with historical setting in 19th-century Madrid.
