«El monstruo de la oscuridad» is the children's novel by Uri Orlev, published by EDICIONES SM in paperback (96 pages, in Spanish).
A boy living in Jerusalem during times of war and family changes is afraid of the dark: under his bed lives a monster that grows with the night. Instead of fleeing from it, he tries to tame it and forges a friendship that protects him from nightmares and gives him the confidence to face his fears.
It belongs to the El Barco de Vapor Naranja collection, number 104. Translated by Eulàlia Sariola and illustrated by Antonia Santolaya.
Recommended for readers aged 9 to 12 who want to address the fear of the dark and self-confidence.
