«El niño que no sabía soñar» is the young adult novel by Vauro Senesi, published by Ediciones Ámbar in hardcover (192 pages, in Spanish).
Kualid lives with his mother and grandfather in a war-torn neighborhood of Kabul. By day he works with his cousin Said; by night he sleeps without dreaming. His friendship with Babrak, a calligrapher, opens an escape route: fantasy, strength and hope. A painted kite that Babrak gives him restores his certainty of being able to dream.
The Spanish edition, translated by Manuel Manzano Gómez, was published in April 2009 within the Narrativa collection of Ediciones Ámbar.
For readers of children's and young adult literature who want to approach the reality of Kabul through the eyes of a child.
Vauro Senesi, often known mononymously as Vauro, is an Italian journalist and satirical cartoonist.
