«El niño republicano» is the fictionalised memoir of Eduardo Haro Tecglen, published by Círculo de Lectores in hardcover (249 pages, in Spanish).
Eduardo Haro Tecglen recalls his childhood during the Second Republic through the eyes of a boy beginning to discover the politics around him. These memories bring together domestic life, the tricolour flag sewn in secret, Mariana Pineda and the verses of Lorca recited by Margarita Xirgu, without turning the narrative into a political essay.
The edition includes a dust jacket and was published in Barcelona in 1999. The author, Eduardo Haro Tecglen, was born in 1924 and died in 2005.
For readers of history and memoirs who want to approach the Second Republic through a personal, childlike perspective.
Eduardo Haro Tecglen was a Spanish journalist, writer and theatre critic.
