«El parèntesi més llarg» is the short story collection by Tina Vallès, published by Proa in paperback (192 pages, in Catalan).
The seventeen stories start from recognizable situations that end up becoming unusual: being in labor without wanting to give birth, feeling excitement at a funeral, or losing your head while hanging out the laundry. The tone ranges from sharp irony to intimate revelation, with an attentive eye for the unexpected and the emotion hidden in everyday life.
The volume belongs to the A Tot Vent collection and won the Premi Mercè Rodoreda de contes i narracions in 2012.
For readers of short fiction who appreciate contemporary writing with an ironic tone and an intimate perspective.
Tina Vallès is a Catalan writer, proofreader and translator.
