«El pequeño Nicolás» is the children's classic by Jean-Jacques Sempé and René Goscinny, published by Alfaguara in paperback (140 pages, in Spanish).
The book collects the adventures of Nicolás, a boy who, with his classmates, turns everyday life into absurd situations in and out of school. With humor and irony, the stories show the child's view of the adult world.
First volume in the El pequeño Nicolás series, with illustrations by Sempé and translation by Esther Benítez.
Recommended for young readers and for adults who want to rediscover a classic of children's humor.
Jean-Jacques Sempé, usually known as Sempé, was a French cartoonist. He is known for the series of children's books he created with René Goscinny, Le Petit Nicolas, and also for his poster-like illustrations, usually drawn from a distant or high viewpoint depicting detailed countrysides or cities. For decades, he created covers for The New Yorker.
