«El potro» is the illustrated children's non-fiction book by Colette Barbé-Julien, published by Combel Editorial in hardcover (24 pages, in Spanish).
The book follows the foal from birth: it learns to stand, gallop, jump and interact with the herd. With its mother it discovers the human world and lets itself be touched, stroked and brushed, although it startles easily. With photographs it explains how it feeds, where it sleeps and the different horse breeds.
The book is part of the «¿Quién eres?» collection, which includes titles such as «El delfín», «La mariquita» and «El tigre».
Recommended for children aged 4 to 8; suitable for starting to learn about animals with real images and simple texts.
