«El príncipe cruel» is Holly Black's young adult fantasy novel, published by Editorial Hidra in paperback (432 pages, in Spanish).
Jude was seven when her parents were murdered and, along with her two sisters, she was taken to the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, as a mere mortal, she longs to belong to that world, but many faerie beings despise humans, especially Prince Cardan, the king's youngest and most wicked son. To earn her place, Jude must confront him; thus she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues among immortals, discovers her own capacity for violence, and, with civil war looming, must risk everything to save her sisters and the realm.
First installment of the series «Los habitantes del aire» (The Folk of the Air). Translation by Jaime Valero.
Recommended for young and adult readers seeking dark fantasy with fairies, courtly politics, and morally ambiguous characters.
