«El príncipe enamorado» is the children's story by Carles Recio, published by Ediciones de La Tempestad in hardcover (64 pages, in Spanish).
Set in the 14th century, during the reign of James II, the tale follows Prince Alegre, heir to the kingdoms of the four bars, who falls in love with his servant instead of a princess. Based on a true story, it has been noted as the first gay-themed children's story in Spain and defends diversity and love without prejudice.
Second edition published in Barcelona in 2002, within the collection «Fuera de colección». Includes illustrations by Enrique Hurtado Rodríguez.
Story recommended for children aged 6 to 9, useful for addressing affective-sexual diversity in the family or classroom.
