«El punyal del sultà» is a children's detective book by Ursel Scheffler, published by Edicions del Pirata in paperback (120 pages, in Catalan).
Inspector Llampec investigates, on behalf of Prince Alí, the disappearance of the Sultan of Jamai's dagger; the clues lead him to an abandoned fortress in the desert. Each chapter presents a short case, and its solution appears inverted in a magnifying glass, to be read with a mirror, against the light, or upside down.
Volume 19 of the «Comissari Llampec» collection, with 44 illustrations by Hannes Gerber and translated from German by Ramon Montón; original title «Der Fall Wüstenkönig».
Recommended for children aged 10 and up, especially for those who need extra motivation: short cases and the magnifying-glass game.
