«El Regalo de los Reyes Magos» is O. Henry's Christmas story, illustrated by Lisbeth Zwerger and published by Ediciones Gaviota in hardcover (48 pages).
Della and Jim are a humble couple who treasure two possessions: her very long mahogany hair and the pocket watch he has inherited. When Christmas arrives, each wants to buy a gift worthy of the other despite their meager savings, and their decisions will put the true value of love to the test.
The tale, originally published in 1905 as «The Gift of the Magi», is offered in the Gaviota junior collection (5th edition), with a translation by Myriam Lantero González.
From age 10, for children's and young adult readers; its brevity also makes it suitable as Christmas reading.
Henry Otto was an American silent film actor, director, producer, and screenwriter.
