«El rey Simplón» is the humorous children's story by Braulio Llamero, published by Editorial Bruño in paperback (144 pages, in Spanish).
El rey Simplón 13 is a good-natured monarch who only collects taxes when harvests are good and spends his money on suits for his girlfriend and on ministers. When a dragon sows panic, the king goes out to face it alone and discovers the beast is nearsighted: it just needs glasses. The inventor Macario and Princess Altacuna appear.
It is part of the Altamar collection, Humor series, number 68, within Bruño's catalogue for the second cycle of Primary Education.
For boys and girls aged 8 and up, designed for school reading and to encourage the reading habit.
