«El rizo» is the spy novel by Robert Littell, published by Plaza Y Janes in hardcover (249 pages, in Spanish).
The novel, compared to a game of chess, pits the secret services of the United States and the USSR against each other during the Cold War. Scientist A. J. Lewinter travels to the USSR for a conference and tells the KGB he wants to defect, unleashing a tangle of distrust in which no one knows whether the prize is valuable or a decoy.
The novel, winner of the CWA Gold Dagger, has the original title The Defection of A.J. Lewinter; this second Spanish edition is translated by J. Ferrer Aleu.
Fans of spy novels and thrillers set during the Cold War.
