«El secreto de Marcial» is the novel by Jorge Fernández Díaz, published by Ediciones Destino in hardcover (256 pages, in Spanish).
A writer from Buenos Aires tries to uncover, years after his death, who his father Marcial was, an Asturian emigrant who met his literary vocation with silence. Only the classic Hollywood they watched on television united them. In investigating, he finds traces of a secret life, in a story that pays homage to Spanish emigrants and movies.
Winner of the 2025 Nadal Prize, it was published on February 5, 2025 and belongs to the Áncora & Delfín collection of Ediciones Destino.
For readers of contemporary fiction interested in parent-child relationships, emigration and secrets of the past.
