«El secreto de Sofonisba» is the historical novel by Lorenzo de Medici, published by EDB Ficción in hardcover (368 pages, in Spanish).
In 1624, Anton van Dyck visits the elderly Sofonisba Anguissola in Palermo, almost blind but lucid, and listens to the account of her life at the court of Philip II. Years earlier, a confidential document from Pope Pius IV demanded a response that had to travel hidden in a painting by the artist; a mission that becomes a deadly trap.
The novel belongs to the Histórica collection from Ediciones B and includes a translation by Juan Carlos Gentile Vitale.
For readers who want to approach the figure of the painter Sofonisba Anguissola and the intrigues of the Spanish court.
