«El secreto de sus ojos» is the crime novel by Eduardo Sacheri, published by Punto de Lectura in paperback, with 320 pages, in Spanish.
Benjamín Chaparro, now retired, reconstructs a homicide he investigated thirty years earlier as deputy clerk of a court of instruction, and with it revives a secret love that trapped him between passion and silence, in an Argentina convulsed by political violence and impunity.
The novel inspired the film of the same name by Juan José Campanella, winner of the Oscar for best foreign film, and was originally published in 2005 under the title «La pregunta de sus ojos».
For readers of crime fiction and contemporary Argentine narrative, and for those who knew the story through Campanella's movie.
