«El segrest del rei» is a contemporary novel by Màrius Carol, published by Planeta CAT in paperback (in Catalan).
In 1952, a group of students tried to kidnap the mummy of King James I before its transfer to the monastery of Poblet, presided over by Franco. Half a century later, a forensic scientist investigates, with the help of a monk, whether that was legend or whether those young men, later prominent in the democracy, came close to succeeding.
Part of the Ramon Llull collection (number 58). First published in April 2003.
For those interested in contemporary fiction and episodes of mid-20th-century Spain.
