«El señor Phillips» is the contemporary fiction novel by John Lanchester, published by Editorial Anagrama in paperback (256 pages, in Spanish).
After thirty years of routine, a London accountant is dismissed and hides the news from his family. During a July day he wanders the city in a soliloquy that leads him to unusual encounters: a pornographer, a television celebrity and a robbery. A look at ordinary life and self-discovery, without heroics or grandeur.
The novel is the 499th installment in Anagrama's Panorama de narrativas collection, translated by Javier Lacruz from the original English Mr. Phillips.
For readers of contemporary fiction and British narrative, with an ironic look at work, urban life and the middle class.
John Henry Lanchester is a British journalist and novelist.
