«El Síndico» is the science fiction novel by C. M. Kornbluth, published by Miraguano Ediciones in paperback (192 pages, in Spanish).
After the collapse of global economic and political systems, the mafia organization called the Syndic controls America and covers needs such as protection, healthcare, or employment in exchange for loyalty. Many see it as an almost utopian society, but the forces of the United States Government, defeated long ago, begin to emerge.
It is number 30 in the Futuropolis collection, translated from English by Elías Sarhan Assy.
A read for those who enjoy classic science fiction and political dystopias.
