«El sopor de los anillos» is the parody of The Lord of the Rings written by Henry N. Beard and Douglas C. Kenney, in paperback (198 pages, in Spanish).
Fraudo, a small, hairy, reluctant hero, is sent by the wizard Grangolf on a nearly impossible mission: to carry a ring across Middle-Earth Mediocre to stop the tyrant Saurion. The journey becomes a string of absurd encounters (a dragoness on roller skates, elves in heat, killer pelicans) that satirizes the great clichés of epic fantasy.
The Spanish edition was published by Ediciones Farsa's Wagon in 2003; the original, Bored of the Rings, dates from 1969. The book is listed as the third installment of the Cardboard Box of the Rings series.
For readers who want a light-hearted parody of The Lord of the Rings and for those who enjoy absurd humor.
