«El sopor de los anillos» is the parody of The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien written by Henry N. Beard and Douglas C. Kenney, in hardcover.
Humorous version of The Lord of the Rings: a group of caricatured characters travels through Middle-earth amid absurd situations, mistakes and demystifying dialogues. The parody allows itself to laugh at the commonplaces of epic fantasy and the solemn spirit of Tolkien's work.
Original title: Bored of the Rings (1969), a work of the Harvard Lampoon; Goodreads associates it with the Cardboard Box of the Rings series as the third volume.
Intended for those seeking an enjoyable read and for Tolkien fans who want to see the saga treated without solemnity.
