«El viejo expreso de la Patagonia» is the travel book by Paul Theroux, published by Punto de Lectura in hardcover (640 pages, in Spanish).
In the 1970s, Paul Theroux travels by train across America, from Boston to Patagonia, turning the journey into a chronicle with humor and sharp observation. The contrast between Latin American dictatorships and American life appears, along with the figure of Jorge Luis Borges, now almost blind, and the landscapes of Brazil, Chile, Bolivia and Venezuela.
Translation by Gabriel López Guix. Published on February 2, 2009 in the Formato Grande series by Punto de Lectura.
