«El voto» is the short novel by Ernst T. A. Hoffmann, published by El Sol in paperback (93 pages, in Spanish).
In «El voto», Hoffmann presents a woman who hides her face behind a thick black veil. The narration doles out information and keeps elements of the plot hidden to sustain intrigue and appeal to the reader's imagination.
«El voto» appeared in 1991 in the Biblioteca de El Sol collection (no. 98), translated by Celia and Rafael Lupiani; it belongs to the Nachtstücke series, as the seventh instalment.
El voto is for those seeking classics of nineteenth-century German literature and tales of sombre atmosphere and restrained intrigue.
