«Els catalans de Franco» is the historical essay by Ignasi Riera, published by Plaza & Janés in hardcover (461 pages, in Catalan).
It reconstructs the history of the Catalans who, during the Franco regime, were firm supporters of Franco in Catalonia: military men, clergymen, politicians, businessmen and journalists, cited by name. It explains how, despite the initial rejection of the 1936 uprising, many adhered out of ideology, political calculation or interests.
First edition of 1998; includes bibliographic references (pages 437-443) and index.
A work for readers interested in the history of Catalonia and 20th-century Francoism.
