«Els germans» is the classic play by Terenci, published by La Magrana in paperback (160 pages, in Catalan).
The play pits two educational models against each other: Demea raises his son with severity, while entrusting Aeschinus to his liberal-minded brother Micio. When both young men commit similar pranks, rigid discipline proves ineffective, and the debate between permissiveness and repression remains open. Many critics consider it Terenci's masterpiece.
Catalan edition with introduction, translation and notes by Gemma Puigvert Planagumà, in the Clàssics de Grècia i Roma collection.
For readers of classical theater and Greco-Roman literature, and for those who want to discover a work cited in educational debates.
