«Els romanents» is the short novel by Víctor García Tur, published by Editorial Empúries in 2018 in paperback (144 pages, in Catalan).
Els romanents tackles the generational clash in a family of ex-punks with a teenager immersed in an urban tribe the adults don't understand. Three voices narrate: a mother's soliloquy, the boy's diary, and a supposed essay titled «Brevíssima relació de les heretgies». The uncanny happens inside the home.
The work won the Premi de Novel·la Curta Just M. Casero 2017 and belongs to the Empúries narrativa collection.
For readers of contemporary Catalan fiction interested in family stories with an unsettling tone and a polyphonic structure.
