«Em dic Paco…» is the young adult novel by Enric Larreula, published by Barcanova in paperback (112 pages, in Catalan).
Paco is a sixteen-year-old boy living in Badia del Vallès, son of Andalusian parents. When he starts high school in Sabadell, his life changes as he meets young people from a different reality and he reconsiders his identity, caught between two languages and two cultures. Together with some classmates he tries to prevent the destruction of a natural area, but their actions do not turn out as expected; the novel is a vindication of environmental protection and respect between cultures.
The work belongs to the Antaviana Nova collection from publisher Barcanova and is set in Badia del Vallès and Sabadell. Published in 2006, in Catalan.
Aimed at readers from 14 years old, especially young people interested in themes of cultural identity, immigration and environmental activism.
