«Emma» is the novel by Jane Austen, published by Lumen in paperback and in Spanish.
Emma Woodhouse, a well-to-do young woman from the English countryside, believes she has a talent for matchmaking and insists on directing the romantic lives of those around her. Her interventions, though well-intentioned, cause misunderstandings and comic situations, and force her to reconsider her own ideas about love and friendship.
This edition includes the translation and prologue by José María Valverde, and is number 134 in Lumen's Palabra en el tiempo collection.
For those approaching the classics of nineteenth-century English fiction.
Escritor, matemático y fotógrafo inglés del siglo XIX, autor de Alicia en el País de las Maravillas y A través del espejo, clásicos universales.
