Synopsis of En el estanque
En el estanque, del autor Ha Jin, es una novela que transcurre en una comuna al nordeste de China a finales del siglo XX. El protagonista, Shao Bin, trabaja en una fábrica y vive con su familia en una estrecha habitación. Su frustración crece cuando el director de la fábrica otorga un piso a su amante en lugar de a él. Shao Bin, que también es pintor y calígrafo, decide caricaturizar la corrupción de sus jefes en el periódico local, encontrando un aliado inesperado en un periódico de Pekín. Sin embargo, los poderosos siempre encuentran formas de silenciar a sus oponentes. Esta obra es una metáfora de un microcosmos social donde se mezclan lo mejor y lo peor del ser humano.
