In 'Writings on Exile,' Max Aub, considered one of the most prominent writers of the Spanish Republican exile of 1939, profoundly and movingly addresses the theme of exile. This anthology edition, supervised by Manuel Aznar Soler, brings together texts that invite critical reflection on the psychological, historical, social, and political complexity of Republican exile, as well as all exiles that have occurred throughout history. The writings explore nostalgia, the idealization of the lost land, uprooting, and the struggle against historical oblivion, offering a moving look at the experience of exile.

Max Aub Mohrenwitz was a Mexican-Spanish experimentalist novelist, playwright, poet, and literary critic. In 1965 he founded the literary periodical Los Sesenta, with editors that included the poets Jorge Guillén and Rafael Alberti.
