This book by Grupo Cronos offers a vision of Spain during the 19th century, specifically between 1789 and 1833. It analyzes the beginnings of Spanish contemporary history, including the decomposition of the Old Regime and the failed attempts of bourgeois revolution. The reign of Charles IV, the policy of Joseph I, and the revolutionary and warlike process in the Peninsula are examined. It also covers the reign of Ferdinand VII, the economic crisis, the pronouncements, the American independence and the opposition to the regime. In addition, a chapter is dedicated to the cultural, literary and artistic activity of the time.
