In 'Estrella distante', Roberto Bolaño immerses us in a disturbing story set in Chile during the 70s. Through the narrator's gaze, we meet Carlos Wieder, an enigmatic and disturbing character who glides through literary workshops with an aura of mystery. After the military coup, Wieder resurfaces as an aviator who writes biblical verses in the sky, revealing a dark and sinister side. The novel explores themes of identity, horror, and the lethal consequences of art, taking us on a journey through history and literature, where the line between reality and nightmare blurs.
