Estudios sobre los moriscos

Synopsis of Estudios sobre los moriscos

Estudios sobre los moriscos is a historical analysis by the Spanish historian Joan Reglá, published in 1974 by Ariel. The book examines the history of the Moriscos in Spain, from their forced conversion to Christianity to their expulsion in the 17th century. Reglá analyzes the causes and consequences of the expulsion, as well as its impact on Spanish society. This book shows that the defeat of the Germanía and the expulsion of the Moriscos are two aspects of the same process: the consolidation of the socioeconomic power of the landowning aristocracy.
