«Evangelium Vitae. El evangelio de la vida» is the eleventh encyclical letter of John Paul II, published by Editorial San Pablo in paperback (200 pages, in Spanish).
John Paul II presents this encyclical as a meditation on life and denounces the «culture of death» reflected in abortion, euthanasia and the death penalty. It also addresses artificial procreation, experimentation on fetuses and therapeutic obstinacy, and calls Christians and people of good will to defend the gift of life.
The work belongs to the «Encíclicas-documentos» collection of Editorial San Pablo; this is the second edition.
It is aimed at readers interested in the magisterium of John Paul II, bioethics and Christian social thought.

Pope John Paul II was head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of Vatican City from 16 October 1978 until his death in 2005. He was the first non-Italian pope since Adrian VI in the 16th century, as well as the third-longest-serving pope in history, after St. Peter and Pius IX.
