«Expulsadas del paraíso» is the short story collection by Ali Erfan, published by Ediciones Barataria in paperback (144 pages, in Spanish).
Four stories make up the book. The first follows a young woman condemned in a Quranic school for women who defies her fatwa by spending a night with her executioner. The other three pit a writer against a mysterious character whose version of events clashes with the literary one. Female oppression, exile, and truth versus fiction are its themes.
The book belongs to the Bárbaros collection, of which it is volume 10. Translated from French by Delia Mateovich. First edition published in 2003.
For readers of contemporary fiction interested in the female condition and exile. Suggested reading age: 15 and up.
