An Asian Fable is a novel by Guatemalan author Rodrigo Rey Rosa. In this work, a Mexican writer visits an old friend in Tangier, who confesses that his son Abdelkrim is in trouble. The friend gives him a bag with audio cassettes that tell the story of Abdelkrim, a young prodigy of mathematics and technology who was awarded a scholarship in the United States and selected for a special NASA program. Along with the cassettes, he receives a memory card with documents in Arabic that he must decipher. As he delves into Abdelkrim's story, he discovers that he is being pursued and is at the center of a cosmic conspiracy. This novel is a hypnotic and sensual thriller that takes the reader from Tangier to Patmos, from Mountain View to Istanbul, reflecting on the era of extreme violence in which we live.
