«Fractures d'une vie» is the testimony on prison life by Charlie Bauer, published by Points in paperback (415 pages, in French).
Charlie Bauer asks what matters more, being or having, and maintains that lying, stealing, feeling anger or breaking the law is part of being human. Only a saint or an impostor would not recognize themselves in those passions and errors. A narrative that speaks to humanity and draws on his experience in prison.
Published in 1991, it belongs to the Points actuels collection (no. A102). The preface and cover portrait are by Robert Doisneau.
A work for those interested in prison testimonies, the human condition and French social and political history.
