«Francesco» is the novel by Josep Maria Ballarín published by Edicions 62 in paperback, with 216 pages in Catalan.
The work imagines what Francis of Assisi would be like if he lived today and portrays him from Ballarín's personal perspective. The author warns that it is not a study of the saint, but a contemplation of the mark that «el Pobre» leaves on the modern world, written in a testimonial and intimate tone.
The novel first appeared in 1966 and this edition, published in 1986, belongs to the El Cangur pocket collection.
It may appeal to readers interested in Franciscan spirituality and Catalan religious literature, especially those familiar with the work of Josep Maria Ballarín.
