«Franco» is the biography of General Francisco Franco written by Bartolomé Bennassar, published by Editorial Edaf in paperback (368 pages, in Spanish).
The book addresses the question of who Francisco Franco was, a figure both praised and reviled in the twentieth century, and shows how consulting unpublished material since 1976 renewed his study. Bennassar follows the trajectory of the military man, his rise to power and his dictatorship in Spain, supported by Spanish and international research.
The translation from French is by Alfonso Colodrón.
Work aimed at the general public interested in the history of Spain, Francoism and political biographies of the twentieth century.
Bartolomé Bennassar was a French historian and writer. He specialized in Spanish and Latin American history.
