«François le pauvre d'Assise» is an illustrated children's book by Juliette Levivier, published by MAME in hardcover (32 pages, in French).
The book follows Francis of Assisi from his childhood, when he dreams of becoming a knight. On his way to war he encounters God, abandons that ideal and chooses a life of radical poverty among the most needy. Francis appears as a joyful man who conveys his love for his neighbor and for creation, surrounded by animals and nature.
Part of the «Un saint, une histoire» collection and illustrated by Claire de Gastold.
For early readers interested in the lives of saints and Christian spirituality.
