«Frontera» is the young adult novel by Jordi Sierra i Fabra, published by Cruïlla in paperback (176 pages, in Catalan).
Amina, a 14-year-old girl, runs away from home when she learns her parents want to marry her off to a widower. She hides for a week in the attic of her friend Estefanía, while the community reacts in various ways. There she reads the letters that Estefanía's grandparents exchanged while separated by the civil war, and that reading helps her make a decision.
Frontera was published in March 2004 as number 132 of the Gran Angular collection. The edition is in Catalan, although the work was originally written in Spanish.
Recommended reading for young people aged 12 to 17, especially for those seeking realistic stories with social criticism.
