Gadir

Synopsis of Gadir

«Gadir» is the historical novel by Juan Luis Pulido Begines, published by Almuzara in paperback (359 pages, in Spanish).

In 70 BC, the philosopher Posidonius of Apamea travels to Gadir to stay in the temple of Melqart and study the stars, the tides and the holdings of its library. His presence strains the balance between the reformers of the Balbo family and the priestly caste, defenders of traditions such as human sacrifice, and poses a moral dilemma for him.

The cover bears the subtitle «El tiempo que Grecia cuenta en siglos, Gadir lo mide en milenios». The work was published in 2022.

For readers of historical fiction interested in Antiquity, the Roman world and conflicts between tradition and change.
