«Ganesh» is the young adult novel by Malcolm J. Bosse, published by Salvat in paperback (222 pages, in Spanish).
Ganesh, a young Indian, must leave his home after a tragedy and start a new life in the American Midwest. There, his beliefs, based on Hinduism, yoga and mantras, seem strange to those around him; the protagonist will have to find his place between loneliness and culture shock.
Published in 1988. Number 69 of Salvat's Biblioteca Juvenil collection, with translation by Héctor Silva and illustrations by Fuencisla del Amo.
For young adult readers, this novel addresses uprooting and culture shock with a perspective close to the protagonist's experience.

Malcolm Joseph Bosse was an American author of both young adult and adult novels. His novels are often set in Asia, and have been praised for their cultural and historical information relating to the character's adventures. Bosse mostly wrote historical fiction novels after the publication of The Warlord, which became a best-seller. The Warlord was set in China in the 1920s. He also won the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in 1983.
