«Gaudete et exsultate» is Pope Francis's apostolic exhortation on the call to holiness, in paperback, published by Palabra (128 pages).
Pope Francis presents the universal call to holiness as a grace for all the people of God, not just a few: priests, religious and laypeople living in today's world with its same concerns. The title, taken from the Beatitudes, invites rejoicing for the promised reward.
First edition, published on April 9, 2018 in the Documentos MC collection. In 2018, at publication, it was the fifth document written by Pope Francis during his pontificate.
Aimed at Catholic readers and those seeking a reflection on Christian spirituality and the life of faith in today's world.
Pope Francis was head of the Catholic Church and sovereign of Vatican City from 13 March 2013 until his death in 2025. He was the first Jesuit pope, the first Latin American, and the first pope born or raised outside Europe since the 8th-century Syrian pope Gregory III.
