«Gen(t)s diferents» is the play by José Alberto Marín Morales, José Antonio Martínez Blázquez and S. Bataller, published by Edicions Bromera in paperback (88 pages, in Catalan).
The play presents real and absurd situations, current and timeless, that invite laughter and reflection: bidding farewell to an amputated leg with a funeral and mourning, a lady who travels by train but owns a Mercedes and has a daughter pregnant for fourteen months, or a married couple who fall out over a newspaper. A total of thirty characters shape everyday scenes taken to the extreme, conceived as collective theater with a lively and effective stage language.
It belongs to the Bromera/Teatre collection from Edicions Bromera. First edition published in December 1989.
Recommended for adult readers interested in contemporary theater in Catalan and in humorous proposals with a critical undertone.
