«Gespräche mit Kafka. Aufzeichnungen und Erinnerungen» is Gustav Janouch's memoir of Franz Kafka, in paperback (221 pages, in German).
Gustav Janouch met Franz Kafka at seventeen and took long walks with him through Prague; this book gathers the memories of those conversations. Kafka speaks of his own work, of literature and authors such as Edgar Allan Poe or Arthur Rimbaud, and of topics like cinema, photography, money, Chinese philosophy, or art.
The book originally appeared in 1951; the present edition, from Fischer Taschenbuch, is from 1981.
A personal approach to Franz Kafka for readers interested in his figure, in the Prague of the time, and in literary memoirs.
